Eastern Shore Prescribed Burn Association
A Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is a community of landowners, whether experienced or just getting started, who come together to conduct prescribed burns on their properties. With the support of trained professionals, members can share resources, knowledge, and guidance, making it easier and safer to use fire as a land management tool. PBAs are driven by the idea that landowners are best equipped to manage their own lands, with the power of collective experience and support.
What is a Prescribed Burn Association (PBA)?
Eastern Shore PBA
"to promote safe and responsible prescribed fire practices and enhance ecological biodiversity and foster sustainable landscapes for future generations for land across the nine counties that make up the Eastern Shore of Maryland"
Mission
The Eastern Shore Prescribed Burn Association (ESPBA) unites landowners from the nine counties of Maryland’s Eastern Shore, from Cecil to Worcester. Our goal is simple: to help our community use fire as a tool for building healthier, more diverse ecosystems. Through collaboration and shared knowledge, we aim to promote safe, responsible prescribed fire practices and work toward sustainable landscapes for future generations.
